Need to pick 2 for week 1

Chad Ochocinco
Hakeem Nicks
Malcom Floyd

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

That's what I thought...but I really don't wanna miss the 5 catch/200 yard performance that Nicks is bound to put together one of these weeks.

Hakeem Nicks is vastly overrated because he plays for the Giants, IMO.

I'm only in one league this year, an 8-team league so rosters are pretty stacked. Having a hard time with my Week 1 RB's..I need to start two of these four:

Jamaal Charles
Cedric Benson
Ahmad Bradshaw
Arian Foster

Charles and Benson are starting right now, but Bradshaw has "unofficially officially" been named the Giants' starter ahead of Brandon Jacobs and I admittedly don't know much about Carolina's run defense this year. Would it be worth benching Charles (vs SD) or Benson (vs SD) without seeing how the carries in NY break down?

I would go with Floyd/Nicks myself.

Floyd and Ochocinco are the week-to-week safe plays, while Nicks hits your home runs. I'd like having one safe and one HR guy in the lineup at all times.

Crew... I would keep Bradshaw on the bench until you know how that timeshare shakes out, and I would keep Foster on the bench until we find out if he is actually any good. The Texans will be needing to throw against the Colts this week anyway.

I like Charles and Benson for Week 1.

Same

Week 1 is always tough because we don't know the time shares yet, but Charles and Benson will both get theirs. Bradshaw is in one of those annoying roles where he'll only get TDs if he breaks a long one, and Foster could lose his job just as quickly as he got it.

I too would go with Charles and Benson. Foster could end up being a full time back, but it's safer to wait and see--especially when your other options are strong.

Jazzytrav, is your league PPR? I personally would go with Floyd/Ochocinco if so. Nicks is more likely to get a bigger play but less likely to catch as many balls as the other too. I like Floyd a lot without VJ there this year.

I have a couple. Kolb or Cutler? Normally I like Kolb, but Cutler is facing Detroit.

For my flex: Mike Wallace or Darren Sproles? I should mention it's a PPR league.

Nope, which means one big play from Nicks and he could double the other two. I don't wanna count on big plays, though.

Kolb or Cutler? Normally I like Kolb, but Cutler is facing Detroit

Normally I would say Kolb, too, and I would consider him the "safe" choice between the two. But I could also see Cutler blowing up for a 300 yard/3 TD type day against Detroit.

In a tough case like that, I would say go with Cutler and root for the Packers with a clear conscience Image

Mike Wallace or Darren Sproles?

Wow, you've got some annoying decisions to make. Wallace depends a lot on how well Dixon plays, but Atlanta's defense is shaky. Sproles will likely be used all over the place, and might actually be a better bet if it's PPR. I would lean towards Sproles.

Without PPR I'd be more likely to play Nicks, for what it's worth.

Yeah, I do have some annoying decisions. Thanks for the input though.

Having second thoughts about starting Welker as my #2 over Jacoby Jones. Our league is 0.5 PPR (benefits Welker) but we get an extra 2 pts for receptions over 40 yds (benefits Jones). Part of me wants to wait and see on Welker's knee. Jones did well against IND last year and that game could be a shoot out.

I also have S. Holmes but obviously have to wait for week 5 to start him...

I'm sure glad that no one else in my three leagues knew who Arian Foster was when we drafted.

Really hurt seeing Nicks on my bench today. That'll learn me.

Your advice included having Ochocinco on the bench, though, and he had a huge game, too. Then again, Floyd could still have a big game tomorrow night and make all of this moot.

Nice part about this is that I came into this season really worried about my receivers, and two of them have already had big games.  I have no problem seeing production from what I thought was my weakest position.

Not a real important one, but...

Cincinnati D against Minnesota, or
Miami D against Baltimore

I'd take Cincinnati... MIA v BAL might be lower scoring, but between Favre and AP, the Vikes are bound the turn the ball over twice a game.

Eli Manning @ IND or (I'm ashamed to admit it) Favre vs. MIA?

Truthfully, all bias aside, I think Favre has to show something before I would consider playing him. Ankle surgery, no Sidney Rice, still a bit rusty...he's a risky play (Favre risky? Never!). Plus, the Colts defense got beat up last week and lost Sanders again...I think Eli could have at least an above average showing.

I agree, I think I'd give a slight edge to Eli this week.

What do you guys think for my RB situation this week. It's a PPR league that gives big points for yardage. I was leaning towards sitting Mendenhall, but I'm not sure. I need to play two of:

R Mendenhall @ Tenn
A Foster @ Wash
P Thomas @ SF
