Dallas comes in at 4-1 which is mainly driven by two rookie additions to the offense.

But I'm not sold that they are really a playoff caliber team yet. Of their four wins, they really have one (sort of) impressive victory; last week against the Bengals. Granted, the Bengals don't look like they are playing to expectations this year either.

This game pits the NFL's top rated run defense against the top rated run offense. This matchup will be a major key to the game. If Elliot can't gain any ground in the run game, it will put far more pressure on Prescott to throw the ball. Granted, Prescott's feet will also need to be contained. Stop the run (from all aspects) and make Prescott beat you with his arm. That will probably be the theme of the game.

Conversely, the Packers might not have much of a running game with Lacy and Starks both dinged up. Lacy sounds like he could play. Starks is also probable with an unknown knee injury and a family issue that will keep him away from home until Saturday. I wouldn't be surprised to see Jackson promoted from the PS for the game.

Dallas' defense hasn't been great, but they just got their best pass rusher back from a four game suspension and are improving. But if AROD is on, he will probably be their biggest test yet.

Defensively, I give the team a pass on this one. We started the game missing our #1 and #3 CB (the last of which lost on 24 hour notice). Then our #2 leaves the game early. We ended up with UDFA and Goodson (a 6th round pick) and maybe Hyde (a 5th rounder) if you want to include him in the slot at CB for the game.

And all things considered, they held up pretty well for the first 1.9 quarters. And if the offense had shown any competence, they probably play well enough to win the game. But it seemed like they were out of gas (or will) in the second half after the Offense couldn't score a TD and kept giving up turnovers.

Offensively, I look pretty squarely at Rodgers as the first, second and third things wrong with the offense. MM plays way too often with the exact same offensive plays that were ineffectual, but eventually broke out of the mold. But Rodgers was high, low, late, behind... Even if he only hits 3-4 WIDE OPEN WRs that he missed, we are in the ball game. Pull back the INT, fumbles, and hit 3-4 WIDE OPEN WRs, and we win easily.

I do admit that I've started to wonder if there is something between MM and Rodgers that is causing this funk. Is it time for one of them to go? Time for Hundley to step in? For a new head coach to refocus the whole team? I'm not sure but it certainly should be considered...
