When the play breaks down like that, why do our receivers keep drifting down field instead of coming back to the ball to help Aaron? Seeing a lot of that lately.

1st & 18 - Throw a 3yd route incomplete
2nd & 18 - Run the A gap for a yard.

On defense, rush 3 on 3rd and forever and get burnt by a 60yd completion. These schemes suck.

After these last two weeks, it feels like some of the 1990s seasons: pick up enough divisional wins to finish top of the NFC North, then lose in the playoffs. They look totally overmatched against Denver and Carolina.

Agreed. They are a 12-4 football team which most fans would drool over, but against a good defense the schemes tend to blow on both sides of the ball. When you have to play your 5th and 6th cornerback, you blitz just about every play, not rush 3 on 3rd and 17.

Ugh, that was ugly v2.0. Sure, they came back but after Carolina was playing prevent D. I'm stunned at how susceptible we are to the bull rush. Most of the time against Carolina and nearly all the time against Denver, the rushers basically bull rushed. The pocket merely stepped back into Rodgers throwing/escape lanes and made him very ineffective.

Finally in the second half, they started moving him out of the pocket a bit. Or at least escaped by rolling around the edge rusher instead of through a gap. Why do adjustments like that take so long to make?

Other items of note:
- MLB Ryan replaced Palmer for the end of the game. Certainly, Carolina had simplified their offense and Ryan didn't seem to make any big plays, but he was where he needed to be. I wonder if we will see that more next week. Palmer has been brutal, so I'm not sure how Ryan could be worse.

- Richard Rodgers had the dropsies. Can't wait to get Quarless back because Rodgers looks overmatched by himself. And no one else is doing squat at TE.

- Ripkowski - BOOOM! I love how he got those extra yards on that little out-route by running over that DB. Kuhn used to play a lot of 3rd down because he could block and catch. I think he has slowed a bit on the catch side, so having another good 3rd down option would be great. I just don't see any of our RB/FBs as good 3rd down options. Crockett on the PS looks big enough to block and elusive enough to be a threat receiving the ball. Its been a long time since we had that.

- WRs - Again, they looked pretty flat in running routes. Better than last week, but still not overly active in getting open. Again, Janis and Abbrederis barely played (2 snaps on offense each). I get that they might not be prime-time ready, but why not have a special play for each? Especially with Janis' speed. With Montegomery injured and Quarless injured, why not expand our playmakers?

- What is it with Lacy and fumbling all of the sudden? He hasn't lost too many of them, but more by sheer luck than anything. He is putting the ball on the ground WAY too often. Combine that with the fact that he is running into big blobs of players instead of cutting for holes and he should be benched. I'd suspect that our O-line is a problem except that Starks doesn't seem to be effected by it.
