Anybody watching this Boise State/Nevada game? I thought Kellen Moore had won the Heisman with a 50 yard bomb to set up a game winning chip shot but then the kicker missed as time expired (not that that should reflect poorly on Moore). They're going to OT now.

Boise State's kicker has just presumably become the most hated man in Idaho, missing a 29 yarder in OT to go with the missed 26 yarder at the end of regulation. Nevada just needs a FG to win...

Unless the S.O.'s sister has a last-minute request for her fourth ticket, it looks like I can attend this game.   I haven't been to a Badger football "season finale" since 1985, when it snowed all over UW and Michigan State in Dave McClain's final game.   I was all set to go to the Cal Poly regular-season-finale of 2008, but I caught a cold and thought better of sitting out in the cold for several hours.

What I've been wanting to see in a season finale (and haven't seen now for 25 years) is the On Wisconsin Finale.   So I am looking forward to that, though of course the overall football context is appealing as well.

To this casual football fan, UW seems about as locked-and-loaded as I can ever recall.   Go Badgers!

Got the warm winter gear out and ready to witness a Big Ten Championship being won! Should be a cold one today, but wouldn't miss this one for anything.

Looks like Penn State is going to roll over to MSU today, making life a little more interesting for Wisconsin, especially with Michigan giving OSU a game early.

I've had this chalked up as a PSU win for months, so incredibly disappointing effort from the Lions early.

Badgers have a chance obviously to move up in BCS. They need to put in on Northwester as much as they can!

To be fair, he's not the one that blew a 24-7 lead.  Tough luck for Boise, but I breathed a little sigh of relief, because I thought they'd give Wisconsin a ton of trouble in a hypothetical Rose Bowl.  I like the Badgers' chances (should they get there) against TCU or Stanford better than I liked their chances against Boise.

And I feel sorry for whatever team has to play Boise in a bowl now.

With the butt-kicking Ohio State is giving Michigan right now, UW is going to have to really pound Northwestern if they don't want to allow voters an excuse to put Ohio State ahead of them.

Anybody buy the rumors that Rich Rodriguez is coaching his last game at Michigan? I can understand why they would want him out but Michigan's offense has generally looked good and 3 years is not that much time to give a college coach a chance to get his personnel in place. IIRC, Rodriguez was considered one of the best coaches in the country before he took the Michigan job.

I'm not concerned about that at all.  We have a huge lead on Ohio State in the BCS.  After last week they only gained .0044 on us.  They're stil .054 behind us in the rankings.  The only way they pass us is if we lose.

The funny thing about Michigan getting pounded by Ohio State is that it just might be embarrassing enough for all the boosters to complain enough about Rodriguez to get him fired, which would put the school in an even bigger hole after he spent the past few years recruiting spread offense guys. If you bring in Jim Harbaugh and his NFL-style offense, you're going to have to start from scratch, because Denard Robinson is worthless in that offense.

The defense is really the only big problem they have, but for whatever reason most people in Michigan see it as a Rodriguez problem, and not a Greg Robinson problem.

RR was a terrible hire for Michigan. His offense can run all over undisciplined teams from the Big East and the Big Ten bottom feeders, but he is 0-11 against B10 teams with winning records. The defense is bad, and it is further hampered by an offense that rarely holds the ball for more than 6 or 7 plays at a time. But the most telling sign is the lack of discipline and fundamentals.

Wisconsin is one of the most disciplined and fundamentally sound teams in the country--few penalities, few turnovers, great tackling, and even solid special teams for the first time in ages. That is a major credit to the program that Bielema has built.

I highly doubt that Rich Rod will be back for another season. Michigan needs to get better quickly. With Nebraska joining the conference and Michigan State/Wisconsin enjoying success, it isn't going to be easy for Michigan to improve, especially with spread offense style recruits coming in.

As for today's game, the Badgers could probably win without throwing the ball...at all. I think NW will put up a decent fight but Wisconsin will never bee in danger of losing. Wisconsin 42, Northwestern 24.

I don't think Harbaugh would want to go to Michigan anytime soon -- I think he has a pretty good path to the NFL, and Michigan seems like a step backwards for him

I don't think I agree with this at all. Michael Vick is running a pro style offense and is looking pretty good. Robinson doesn't have the arm of Vick but just because a guy can run doesn't mean he can't play in an offense where he doesn't run as much. Also, just because and offense is pro style doesn't mean that it can't take advantage of a guy's talents. Luck has run for almost 500 yards this season so it's not like Harbaugh requires his QBs to be immobile.

This seems like it belongs in a Michigan message board's reverse jinx thread.

Funny how the halftime score is pretty close to your pick for final score!

Monty Ball is an excellent RB. Wisconsin has a really, really, REALLY good team!
