This is the first game so far this season that, going into it, I haven't felt like the Packers 'should' win. I hope they prove me wrong.

Not going to lie. I'm legitimately scared for Aaron Rodgers' safety in this game. The defense is probably going to have to turn in another performance like the one they had Sunday night in order to keep the team in this, and I don't know if they'll be able to get up to that emotional high two weeks in a row.

I hope I'm wrong, too.

Stack the box and make Sanchez beat us. I'm much more worried about Greene and Tomlinson than anything else, and their success will determine Sanchez's success rather than vice versa. Stopping the run quickly opens up Capers' playbook to confuse them and create turnovers, so I'm guessing (hoping) there will be 8 or 9 in the box from the beginning. It's nice to have Peprah showing strength against the run of the possible return of Bigby going into this one.

Pack 23
Jets 13

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst.

I think the game depends on Cullen Jenkins playing and playing effectively, (as he's done all season). That leaves just one starting space to fill with a back-up lineman, but maybe Pickett will surprise us. Run defense is crucial, as is covering Dustin Keller. Chillar is back, but he's been getting toasted by TEs since he's got here (really), so I'm not expecting much there. If the offense can get out to a lead, maybe covering for the run defense is a moot point, but that'll be tough.

During Rodgers tenure as a starting QB, we've been in every single game save for that shootout against the Saints in 2008. In the last 3 years, the average margin of loss is a shade over 6 points. I can envision scenarios where the Packers keep it close or even win, but this one might be the first real laugher. It's just too hard to pull off an upset on the road against a team coming off a bye.

This will be the first game of the year that I probably won't be in the least bit upset if we don't win, seeing as how I don't expect us to win this one. Frankly, I didn't expect us to win last week but I still would have been quite upset if we hadn't.

I feel the same way. I had this as a loss when I ran down the schedule at the start of the season and that was with a fully healthy team. So if they lose with this banged up team it would surprise me even less. I think they have a shot, but they are going to have to play near perfect. Maybe they got some momentum from the big win over the Vikings and that will run into this weeks game.

On paper, this game looks like a win for the Jets. My theory though, is that this is going to be like the Pittsburgh and Arizona playoff game last year, with both teams running up the score.

I would love to see a shootout, because I think we win a shootout.

The Jets are the 17th ranked offense, but are #2 in rushing and #27 in passing.  They are far from a balanced attack.  It's easier said then done, but the best chance to win is to stop the run game and make Sanchez beat you.  And you must make the most of your opportunities, because if the Jets are able to run, they will control the clock.  Could be one of those 17-13 games.

Today's inactives:
  • FB Quinn Johnson
  • RB Dimitri Nance
  • CB Brandon Underwood
  • LB Diyral Briggs
  • G Nick McDonald
  • G/T Marshall Newhouse
  • DE Ryan Pickett
  • OT Mark Tauscher
Cullen Jenkins is active and will start. C.J. Wilson starts for Pickett, Bulaga starts for Taucher. Mike Montgomery and Howard Green are active in case something happens to one of the starting defensive lineman.

Johnson inactive again, and Nance inactive too -- any doubt what McCarthy's gameplan is?

Nance is hurt.

Jenkins being active is huge...I just hope he can be productive as well. While I liked what I saw from Wilson last week in pass rush, I'm concerned against the run, so they're gonna need to stack the box heavily.

I wonder how bad Nance's ankle is? Perhaps it is bad enough that it gives an opening for Starks to come off the PUP list next week and not go on IR.

Since Starks hasn't played in 2 years, my bet is that he's the one who ends up on IR if they don't feel he can contribute this year.  But that depends on Nance's ankle.

I'm expecting the Packers to be dominated in the special teams battle today.

Good start for special teams.  Masthay doesn't have any room for error...same for all special teams.  This is the kind of game that can be determined by special teams.

Good pass rush, nice bat by Jenkins. Really good to see he can move like that.

Cullen Jenkins is resurrecting the Mr. T haircut. It looks like he's out of the club too and just has a heavier glove.

Another nice special teams play. I'd rather not keep punting, but Masthay has two good punts and nice play by Lee.
