There's the injury to Favre that most were expecting. Looks like something with his jaw, but he got hit pretty hard.

The league will likely be visiting Myron Pryor's checkbook this week. That was helmet to chinstrap. Non-intentional, but still.

Who said anything about milking an injury?

Man, that doesn't look good at all. I think his jaw is broken....

Aikman thinks it was a clean hit.

I thought he hit him in the chest and slid up but it was hard to tell from that angle.

It's hard to tell from that angle if his helmet slid up and split his chin open (most likely what happened), but it's possible the front of Favre's shoulder pads rode up and pinched his chin, which I've seen happen also.  I don't think it was an intentional helmet-to-helmet hit, though.

The hit looked clean to me...the contact with the chin/jaw seemed to be incidental after the initial hit that got Favre just below that area. Pryor's helmet slid up and hit him on the way down to the ground.

It was a clean hit, Pryor aimed his helmet directly into Favre's chest just like you're taught, his head just happened to slide up as Favre's chin came down.

Lacerated chin is the official word.

Jared Allen has been invisible this year.  He wouldn't have had that great of a year last year either if he hadn't gotten 7 or 8 sacks against Colledge/Lang in two games.

How about that Vikings run defense?

I just took a quick shower and came back to my wife saying Favre was carted off the field. My first thought was that some illegal hit on Favre would take over the headlines all week, so in that sense I was happy to rewind back and see that it was a clean hit. No one wants to injure another player, but that was completely legal.

That's an incredibly risky move for Belichick to essentially kneel on it twice, but it looks like it's going to work perfectly and drain maximum clock while putting them up two scores.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Sure feels good to be sitting at 5-3 with the Vikings at 2-5.

Derek Anderson...still really bad.

LeGarrette Blount owns the guy that he just hurdled.

On another note, I'm loving the "It's Good to have a Ring" commercials, especially this last one where they chuck a water bottle at Buck. Brilliant.

Wouldn't be surprised if Brett has a concussion, with the way he was wobbling around after that hit. If that's the case, then maybe him playing next week won't be up to him or Childress -- he'd be at the mercy of the league's concussion rules.

To be fair, whoever it was on TB that came up with the pick on the slant throw to Fitzgerald in the red zone late in the game grabbed Fitzgerald's waist with both hands & used the leverage to slingshot himself into position (& Larry out of position).  Fox's crack announcing team, of course, was all over pointing that out.

The officiating this season has been so bad, I really don't know what to make of it.
