I kinda hope McCarthy does throw a bunch of backups in for the 2nd half, but doesn't tell anyone that he's gonna do it. That way Rodgers will still prepare like he's playing a full game, but he'll get some time off, and Flynn will have to come in with the same amount of preparation that he would have if Rodgers got hurt.

It's sad that the most exciting thing I can think of about this game is to see how the coaching staff manages the game. The Packers defense might be as boring as we've seen it all year cause Capers isn't gonna show them a thing.

Since winning or losing probably won't matter much, I think we should play the entire game with Bush covering Fitzgerald one-on-one. It would be like playing Madden on rookie mode...just run play action every time and bomb it downfield.

I say, as a tribute to this brilliant scheduling feat, we keep this loop this thread into next week and make it the Packers week 17/wildcard playoff thread.

Pack 38
Cards 35

Game-winning field goal by Crosby from the right hash. This needs to happen.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

If they play Arizona, they can't play on Sunday. The FOX game is at 12 pm, and the league won't start a game any earlier than noon anymore. Think of it this way: the NFL doesn't ever schedule Arizona and Denver to play home games at 1 pm ET. That won't change for the playoffs. NBC will get the best game, which will obviously be affected by the Arizona time issue (probably Phi/Dal, Gb/Dal, Den/Ne, Hou/NE), and either the worst (Hou/Cin, NYJ/Cin) or Gb/Arz by default.

Sat: 3:30: GB/ARZ; 7:00: DEN/NE
Sun: 12:00: PHI/DAL; 3:30: NYJ/CIN

Haven't offered a game prediction really for the day, so here goes,

Arizona 23 GB 19 (w/ GB resting a majority and being vanilla)

What a fun day to be around the tv....in other action I'll say,

Vikings 21 Giants 27 (Giants decide to finish strong)
Cowboys 23 Eagles 21 (Cowboys take care of business at home)

Ravens 30 Raiders 10
Broncos 27 Chiefs 12
Pittsburg 23 Dolphins 24
Bengals 14 Jets 24

First Round Jets at Patriots, Ravens at Bengals, Philly at Minn, GB at Dallas

Oh man, I think Fitzgerald might break the record for the most TD catches in a game.

I really have no idea how this game plays out. Is AZ playing for anything? I think our backups can beat their backups....just depends on who subs earliest.

The Cards still have an outside chance at the 2nd seed, but they'll know by gametime whether or not it's possible -- they need Minnesota to lose the early game, and the Eagles to lose in Dallas while they beat the Packers. It's possible that if the Vikings win, the Cards could just start Matt Leinart at QB and rest guys who are banged up.

And, for what it's worth, let's not forget our back ups did beat their back ups already this year in the preseason...that was a pretty wild game.

lcbj: If your above games play out, I don't think you have the right NFC matchups. 1. NO 2. ARI 3. MIN 4. DAL 5. PHI 6. GB Right?

Jay Glazer on Fox pregame said McCarthy is reluctant to give the team too much rest this week, given the fact that they're a young team and momentum is so important to them. Can't say I disagree much, but if they get a decent sized lead I'd like to see some of the more important vets (like Woodson, Rodgers, Grant, etc.) take a seat.

Is it odd that I actually think that Matt Flynn might be better then Matt Leinart?

Leinart did start his rookie year and wasn't that bad.

I wonder if he will take the path of Rodgers and actually be decent when old man Warner hangs it up.

The way the vikings are playing, this game may not mean much for either team.

As long as the Packers don't play as awful as the Giants, I'll be happy.

I wouldnt mind the packers playing bad on purpose to avoid showing the cardinals everything we have for the WC.

I'm sure it will be kinda like a preseason game. Very basic defensive scheme, healthy dose of the running game, that sort of stuff.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Screw it, go for it...it's not like the game matters. Image

While you're at it, let's not punt all afternoon, just for fun. It'll be like a game of Madden.

According to Dick Stockton, Mike Nugent was the Packers' kicker the past two weeks. Who knew.

I'm a little nervous. The footing looks like crap right now. Lots of people are slipping, including that kick off by Crosby. I'd like to see the starters come out pretty quick

Sounds like there are more packer fans than cardinal fans at this game.
