I want to know how many steps a receiver has to take with possession of the ball before it is considered a catch, and why a runner is down and any subsequent fumble negated when his knee is down and the same doesn't apply to a receiver who catches the ball and his knee is down before losing control of the ball.

I can kind of understand the punt return call because the rule is fairly vague. But overturning the TD to Peavy is absolutely ridiculous.

And Stave had no business playing beyond the fifth series. Tripping over his own feet on the first possession, a poor throw that hits a player's helmet(!) and is subsequently intercepted on the second series, missing a wide open receiver on the third series, and having the ball slip out of his hands on the fifth series. When you have zero points at halftime it's time to change your QB.
