Could Ohio State be saddled with a down season in 2011.  I know Wisconsin will be hard pressed to make a run with all the seniors we are losing, but this certainly helps.   Pryor misses Miami, Colorado, and Michigan State.   @Nebraska would be a tough game for a season debut.

It's not just Pryor.  It's also their All Big 10 RB, their best WR, an All Big 10 tackle, and another guy.

Why would these guys even come back for next year now though?  That's the silliness of the suspension.

Ohio St has one of the best QB recruits in the country coming in next year so that should help, but this is a huge loss.  I don't understand why they got suspended for next year and not the bowl game though.

There's doubt in your mind that losing them for the Sugar Bowl wouldn't decrease viewership, ratings, future sponsorships, and the NCAA's bottom line?

I doubt this will affect Ohio State much. They are not suspended for any games against teams in their division. They will probably lose to Michigan State but will still be "Leaders" division favorites if Pryor returns.

Convenient that they're all eligible to return against Nebraska, assuming the 4 draft eligible players don't declare.

I'm not convinced Michigan State will beat them next year, even with those players missing. Sparty's losing Greg Jones and a few other seniors from that defense that made them so good this year.

Pretty obvious what their motivations are by not suspending them for the bowl game.  That's like a guy getting busted for PED's in the NFL but letting him play in the playoffs. 

Rumors also started circulating yesterday that Tressel is stepping down as HC and told his incoming recruits to seek scholarship opportunities elsewhere.
