Maybe not as prestigious a bowl game but I love the matchup. I think UW will win and I also don't think it will be all that close.

Will have a chance to watch Jason Fox, Miami's left tackle, whom I wouldn't be surprised to see GB draft. Reminds me a bit of Chad Clifton coming out of college.

Miami is 28th in rushing defense, 25th in total defense, 36th in total offense - UW ranks better in all three of those categories. Miami is 62nd in rushing offense, 27th in passing offense. UW is 10th in rushing defense and 67th in passing defense. The keys will be Miami's run defense and UW's passing defense. Should be a really good matchup.

Good matchup, terrible venue, terrible location. I'm almost stunned Orlando asked the Badgers back this year, because frankly I think the fan base is sick of making the same trip year after year.

I'm glad that Miami is the opponent versus Auburn, but yeah it's time to revisit the bowl slotting. When your only possible destinations are Orlando, Tampa, and San Antonio every year it gets old...usually against the same opponents.

And even for the Badgers, San Antonio really hasn't been an option more than once. It's been Tampa or Orlando the last six years in a row, unless I'm mistaken.

You're right, San Antonio is just always the 'other' possibility. I mean look at the difference in teams and seasons from this year to last year...and they go to the same bowl. Like I said, I'd rather see them play Miami over Auburn, but the whole slotting is really boring for the most part.

I agree that I like playing Miami - but am sick of the same bowls.

I think though this happens a lot to the "2nd tier teams" in the major conferences, i.e. the teams that are consistently good, but can't get past the elite teams in the conference.

It's really hard for me to get excited about the bowls, but I like 4 of the 5 BCS matchups.... TCU plays BSU again. Initially this pissed me off, but I would rather see BSU play TCU, I guess than GA Tech. I like the traditional matchup in the Rose Bowl, and I am glad Iowa plays GA Tech, as I can ignore both teams at the same time.

Agree completely. Glad we are playing Miami instead of Auburn, but going to the same few bowls nearly every year is hardly exciting.

IIRC this is the last year for the Champs and perhaps the last year for the Alamo? Most of the second-tier tie-ins change next year, including the Gator Bowl among others.

Indeed, the Big Ten's tie-ins change next year. Of course, adding the Gator Bowl just replaces a Florida Bowl with another Florida Bowl, with another SEC matchup no less. Image

Out: Champs Sports, Alamo Bowl
In: Gator Bowl (Jacksonville), Texas Bowl (Houston), Dallas Football Classic (um, Dallas)

Yes, that's 8 Big Ten Bowls.

Lost our lone matchup with the ACC, picked up yet another SEC, and picked up a rotating matchup alternating years with a 2nd Big 12 tie-in and a lone CUSA.

Is it just me or did it feel like the final score of that game should have been 48-7? Wherther the drives just stalled at Miami's 35 or the Badgers turned the ball over they throughly dominated that game from about the 13:50 mark of the 1st QTR.

Also, I know the defense was playing well but why not go for it on fourth and 2-3 yds when you are on the opponent's 35? It's not like Miami was doing anything offensively. Felt a bit like the Packer games this year, no killer instinct.

Okay, now I'm just being nit picky. Fun game to watch and a great Badger win. I can't wait for next year.
