is it really that bad to have people driving the 90 minutes from Milwaukee in the odd even that all GB-area hotels are booked?

People are already going to be driving 6-10 hours to get there.  They shouldn't have to drive another 90 minutes to get to the game.  What's the point of having a game in one city if half the people going have to stay somewhere else?

I still think the game should rotate.  Indy, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Detroit.  Maybe give it to Green Bay once to see how it goes over.  Maybe Cleveland once too.

The allure of the venue, obviously. I'm not saying they should put it 90 minutes outside of any major metro, but this is a special circumstance.

With talk about SBs in cold weather stadiums and possibility of being in the regular rotation for the Big10 title game, one might think that GB would invest more in developing more hotel capacity... of course they still have to make money the rest of the time, too.

Just a little bump for this thread.  Looks as though the title game is mostly going to be split between Indy and Chicago.  Cleveland was set to make a pitch and the Big 10 said don't bother.

Indy and Chicago are great cities for the title game, but I think the Big 10 is focusing too much on them.  There are a lot of other cities that would be a great  for this as well.  Chicago and Indy already get the majority (or is it all?) of the Big 10 basketball tournaments.  I know they are centralized and all but cities like Detroit and Minneapolis would be good options as well.  Cleveland too even.
