Moving this to the NFL Draft forum and making it the "early declarations" thread.

J.J. Watt, meanwhile, is declaring for the draft. Link

A tweet from J.J.:
I will be a Wisconsin Badger for life, but at this time I have made the decision to enter the 2011 NFL Draft.

Question: if there's no CBA in place by the time the draft comes around, will there even be a draft? And if there isn't, what's the timeline for a player to back out and go back to play college ball for another year?

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

The draft is the last league event on the current CBA before it expires. There will be a draft, but I don't think players will have contracts, especially with a cap on rookie salaries being discussed for the new CBA.

yeah he is leaving alot of money on the table, even if you don't want to go to carolina (and no #1 overall pick goes into a great situation) you can still pull an Eli Manning and get out.

I was hoping the Badgers could get another year out of J.J. Watt, as he was my favorite player to watch on that team. I'm curious to see whether he makes it into the first round of the draft.

The real risk with Luck is that he'll probably be playing for a new coach, and possibly a new scheme next year. Were I in that position, I would have at least held off on making the decision until Harbaugh made his decision.

I think it's fairly likely that his evaluation graded him into the first, or else he would have stayed in school. He's a guy who is well aware of the CBA situation, so he was enticed to go pro by something.
