Anyone else get this pop-up when you log into to anything from Yuku?

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Good attention grabber with the topic title. Image

That shouldn't be happening at all. Occasionally, on boards that display ads, there'll be a bum ad that will have issues (popups or malware). But this board is ad-free.

Does this happen every time you log in, or did it just happen once?

It's just every so often...doesn't seem like there's any pattern. Every 3rd or 4th time it comes up as a separate pop-up saying I can choose between a $1,000 Walmart gift card or Best Buy gift card or something else. Well if none of you guys are getting it, maybe I actually won!

It's likely tied to a virus I picked up on my home computer; one of those "Internet Antivirus 2011" thingers where it says I've got a billion trojans and need to buy their product now or face the dire consequences, while at the same time it's disabling everything on my computer that might stop it. I thought I had it taken care of, but there could be some random lingering effects like this. Thanks for checking Image

You probably have something lurking on your computer that needs to be removed. While both Brewerfan and LambeauLeap are ad-free, Yuku does load a bunch of user tracking stuff. One of those trackers might have a "hook" which ties into malware already present on your computer. Of course, even if you do have malware, Yuku shouldn't be tying into it and triggering popups.

What browser are you using? Do you know how to take a screen capture? If you can grab a picture and the URL of this rogue popup, it might be useful to Yuku. The URL isn't likely to be displayed in the popup window itself, but it should be retrievable through your browser history.

I'd zero in on the anti-virus thinger. If you don't have it, I'd start by downloading and running Malwarebytes' free version. The free version doesn't offer the ability to run automatically, which means that it won't fight with any other anti-malware software you might have installed.

If you find any information that might be of interest to Yuku, consider that "extra credit." If your problem goes away, that's the main thing. However, if things persist, you may benefit from working directly with Yuku staff on the issue.

Also, if you need additional help attacking you malware situation, feel free to start a thread in Off Topic over at Brewerfan. You'll have a wider audience over there.

I use Firefox at home so I can get a screen capture, but right now I'm on my work computer. The virus was kinda nasty...it disabled my antivirus and firewall, then disabled my task manager so I couldn't kill the processes. I had to trick it into giving me back the task manager, uninstalled antivirus and re-installed a different one and between the new antivirus and my registry software (which was altered so it would boot on startup) I thought I had it taken care of. It was a great Christmas weekend for me Image Thanks for the help casey...I'll probably hit bf as I find some more of the loose ends.
