Images are down all over the system. The Bugs forum is full of reports. Many of you might also notice that your personal images are unavailable. As of now, Brewerfan is still OK.

This happened a few months ago, and staff was able to fix the problem once they tracked down a guru. I wouldn't hold out hope for tonight, but I'd expect that something will happen during business hours tomorrow.

Not only will images not work (most times), but (sometimes) they may also load as gigantic... relative to forum/browser size. Not trying to whine, just sharing info in case it could help.

The large avatars are a separate issue. Yuku keeps bumbling around with that problem. I was reining them in with CSS for a while, but it had some side effects. I'll probably put the code back and put up with the side effects.

I should note that I'm not referring to smilies, or anything within a 'make a new post' window. Just the baseball new post icons & the other icons (exclamation point, transaction icon, locked thread, etc.). They all show up as text... ie "Unread Message", "Closed Topic", etc."

One of the images servers is down. Yuku announced about an hour and a half ago that they were looking into the problem.

There really should have been some kind of response from staff much earlier. But, if I recall correctly, the last time this happened, a fix wasn't that long in coming once the gurus started working on the problem.

Images should be back. If you're still not seeing images, you should do a hard refresh or clear your cache. A hard refresh made images reappear for me.

I hate it when Yuku tells us to do this as they give this advice constantly. Staff expects that these tasks are routine for everyone, and they're not. While these procedures don't really require technical knowledge, there's still enough involved to confuse those who find computers to be a challenge. Other sites don't constantly ask their users to do this.
