I was watching some clips of Talib, and I came across a highlight of him getting burnt by Jordy Nelson, a 6' 3" All-american WR from Kansas State. He seems to play very fast, has great hands, and also returns punts. He seems like he would be a great fit in the Packers offense, even as the #4 reciever w/ his height, speed, and special teams ability. Has anybody seen this guy play, and what are your thoughts on him? Right now he is projected as a 3rd rounder, but I think he may be a good choice for the last second round choice.

I've seen him a little bit, but I don't think the Packers will consider taking a WR in the first 3 rounds. The Packers have Driver, Jennings, Jones, K Rob, and Martin. I think 4 of the 5 are safe and K Rob might be the one spot the Packers fill or they're already set. The fact that he has special teams ability would intrigue the Packers, but I really hope they don't spend a pick in the first 3 rounds on a WR unless one of the top 5 slip to them in the second round.

Nelson has made a lot of fans out there. He's a hard working kid. He's not as good an athlete as many other wideouts but he's tough, has good hands, and is big. He also plays faster than he times and he timed pretty well at the combine. He plays with a lot of heart and gives a lot of effort. I can see him going in the second round with the third round most likely. Whatever team drafts him will get a guy who can help you in many ways. With that said, I don't see us drafting a wideout in the first three rounds unless one's just too good to pass up.

If the Pack were to draft a WR this year he would be the one I would want. However he is rising and I think they have greater needs in the first three rounds than to pick a WR. There's quality players at every position every year, and I think they are set this year at WR so might as well wait until next year to pick a WR.

I really like this pick, after watching more of his video and hearing more about him I can't help but be impressed.

I never once looked into Nelson before the draft and once we picked him, my initial gut reaction was negative because i gotta admit his skin color made me think Ted picked a low upside possession receiver with a high second rounder.

Then i watched the various clips out there and Nelson clearly has athletic ability to go with his great size. I see him catching short passes and once he gets a few steps to get up to full speed, that kid has a great mix of speed/strength that makes him look very hard to tackle.

Before people think i've lost my mind, when i say that i see a bit of Sterling Sharpe in Nelson, i'm not saying he'll become as good as Sharpe. Just that Sterling was very strong with great hands and he didn't run a 4.35 40 yard dash either.

What Sharpe did was use his great strength, great route running, and good football speed to make plays. I really think Nelson could thrive in this Packers offense.

Watching clips and highlights I notice Jordy throws quite the mean stiff arm. I like that.

The Packers have assigned him #87, which means he'll be compared to Ed McCaffrey for the rest of his career.

It's a fine number for a white wideout. Hopefully he lives up to the number.

So what you're saying, is that Jordy Nelson is the white Ed McCaffrey?

Figured Nelson would get 87 since his college number was 27. I like the pick from everything I have heard and seen thus far. Hopefully it translates to the NFL.
