There are definitely less people who post on a regular basis than in previous years, but I loved doing the mock drafts, even if they were epic fails the past few years.

How about dividing teams up by divisions? We'd need just 8 of us to pull this off. Any takers?

I'm in. Always love the LL mock draft.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

I would be for it. If we don't get enough for the division idea, we could always try for a consensus mock. I see we have 16 days before the draft, so not much time left.

NFL Blitz has better referees.

How about 7 people (we have 5 already), each get one division, and we do the NFC North via consensus. I'd like to inspire debate for the Packers pick rather than give it to just one person.

I haven't gotten around to really researching the players the way I would most years...which is baffling considering the draft starts 2 weeks later than normal.

Still, I'm in for a mock.

Also, how many rounds? Three?

I guess I'll volunteer to do the NFC South to get things rolling.

That's seven. We can just keep going until the draft, so maybe we get 2-3 rounds in.

I'll volunteer to do the AFC North.

NFC South - sbrylski
AFC North - Point
NFC North - by consensus

I'll do AFC South.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

As everything else sorts out, the Texans will get the ball rolling and take Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina

Rams are up next for whoever wants the NFC West.

Anyone else starting to get a bust feel from Clowney? For a once-in-a-generation hyped prospect, there sure are a number of criticisms that people have been able to levy on him. I'm not saying he'll be a failure, but I don't think he can live up to the expectations of a #1 overall pick. I think the Texans could go a number of different directions, including Mack, Watkins, or a OT if they don't love any of the QBs.

All the talk for the Rams is that they want to trade down from #2. However, all the talk from the next handful of teams is that they don't really like the QB's that much and might pass on them. It'll be interesting to see who's lying on draft day.

I do hold Atlanta's pick, a popular trade-up candidate. But that's usually only to get Clowney, and with him gone, I'll definitely stay put at #6.

Mack would be a possibility. Not sure about Watkins, but it wouldn't be a terrible idea to finally give Andre a decent friend. I don't know if there's a T, or especially a QB, that could be #1. The way QB prospects are dropping, what was once considered a top 10 pick might be available in the early 3rd. As for Clowney, I think there's just an insane amount of scrutiny because of how big his profile has gotten. He's obviously not a safe bet, but no one really is, even at the top of the draft. We picked A.J. Hawk cause we thought he was a safe pick, and while he has shown some good things, he has underwhelmed for being a "safe" #5 overall.

The prospect of Watt and Clowney on the same line is just too good to pass up. Plus it gives Clowney a great mentor from the very beginning.

Just to keep things moving, I'll jump in and Pick for the Rams (and the rest of the NFC West).

In truth, there's no way they're keeping this pick. They'll pick up a 2nd (or a future first), slide back in the 6-10 range to a team going up for a QB, and still get someone to protect their oft-injured signal caller (Robinson, Matthews or Lewan).

The St. Louis Rams select Greg Robinson, OT, Auburn.

...and with that, I'll be back for the Rams to pick again at 13.

I edited my first post above (the third post in the thread) to keep track of picks.

We have two divisions still open, the NFC East and the AFC West.

jazzytrav and the Jaguars are on the clock.

I don't know if this is true. It sounds more and more like the only reason a team would want to move up is if the Texans take a QB (likely Bortles) instead of Clowney. I've been reading that there is pretty much no consensus among teams on how to rate the top 3-5 QB's (Bortles, Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr, Garoppolo, Savage), and a lot of teams don't think the different between the QB's are that great, so they're fine with waiting to see who falls, or even who falls to the 2nd round.

Given Clowney went 1st overall here, I think the Rams likely end up staying put. Robinson then is the hard-to-criticize pick, but I can't help but like Mack and Watkins as much or more.
