I've loved doing these in the past, but participation/timeliness has always sucked because people would commit and then forget.

Would anyone be interested in doing one where we grouped picks together? Like if we had 8 people interested, we could assign picks 1-4 to one person, picks 5-8 to the next, etc. This would definitely speed the process up.

I'm not even sure we have more than 8 people who even post on this site anymore. We seem to have suffered some attrition. What happened to NDOGG44? Fatter Than Joey fell off the face of the planet after the Packers beat his Steelers in Super Bowl XLV. But am I the only one who thinks this has turned into somewhat of a ghost town?

It definitely seems to have gone that way. It's a shame, because this is consistently the best Packers (& Badgers) discussion I can find online.

Like Brewerfan, things seemed to have dropped off here somewhat since we lost admin support for the main site and moved to the new forums. My personal ability to participate has been diminished greatly over the past couple of years as well. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to organize a mock, but I can help edit and update the list if people want to do one.

I can be in charge of running and updating it. We definitely need to group picks - either four at a time or two at a time. We can put up a post on BF.net if we need to recruit more.

Edit: Let's do this:

1 1 Kansas City Luke Joeckel - LT, Texas A&M
2 2 Jacksonville Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon
3 3 Oakland Sharrif Floyd - DT, Florida
4 4 Philadelphia Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan
5 5 Detroit Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma
6 6 Cleveland Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama
7 7 Arizona Barkevious Mingo DE, LSU
8 8 Buffalo Geno Smith, QB, West Virginia
9 9 New York Jets Ziggy Ansah, OLB/DE, BYU
10 10 Tennessee Bjoern Werner, DE, Florida St.
11 11 San Diego Chance Warmack, G, Alabama
12 12 Miami Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida State
13 13 New York Jets Tavon Auston, WR, West Virginia
14 14 Carolina Star Lotulelei, DT, Utah
15 15 New Orleans Kenny Vaccaro, SS, Texas
16 16 St. Louis Sheldon Richardson, DT, Missouri
17 17 Pittsburgh Jarvis Jones, OLB, Georgia
18 18 Dallas Jonathan Cooper, OG, North Carolina
19 19 New York Giants Tyler Eifert, TE, Notre Dame
20 20 Chicago Manti Te'o LB, Notre Dame
21 21 Cincinnati Eric Reid, S, LSU
22 22 St. Louis (from Washington) Cordarelle Patterson, WR, Tennessee
23 23 Minnesota Desmond Trufant, CB, Washington
24 24 Indianapolis Jamar Taylor, CB, Boise St.
25 25 Minnesota (from Seattle)
26 26 Green Bay
27 27 Houston
28 28 Denver
29 29 New England
30 30 Atlanta
31 31 San Francisco
32 32 Baltimore

1 33 Jacksonville
2 34 San Francisco (from Kansas City)
3 35 Philadelphia
4 36 Detroit
5 37 Cincinnati (from Oakland)
6 38 Arizona
Cleveland (exercised in 2012 supplemental draft)
7 39 New York Jets
8 40 Tennessee
9 41 Buffalo
10 42 Miami
11 43 Tampa Bay
12 44 Carolina
New Orleans (forfeited)
13 45 San Diego
14 46 St. Louis
15 47 Dallas
16 48 Pittsburgh
17 49 New York Giants
18 50 Chicago

I still read, here and BF.net, just not doing nearly as much posting. Life keeps getting busier...

As for a mock, I'm sure I could make time.

I'd certainly be in for a draft, but my reticence to reply before today speaks volumes as to its taking off.

Considering how passionate and abundant Packers fans are, I've always thought it was odd that the BF gets tons more action than LL.

I agree with dkl9s. I "tried" another board once, but it didn't have the moderation rules of BF.net/LL.net and I couldn't stand it.

That being said, even the limited debates here are good. [smile]

I have to pass on the draft myself. I'm never very good on these anyway, but my job has gone crazy in the past year and my time here is limited.

Only a week away, I guess we'll table it for another year.

The Kansas City Chiefs select: Luke Joeckel - LT, Texas A&M. What other position this year is worthy of being taken this high? Certainly not QB. Joeckel's got prototypical size and will allow the Chiefs to flip soon-to-be-officially-disgruntled-RT Branden Albert to the Dolphins for a 2nd rounder so they can recoup what they gave up for Alex Smith.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are now on the clock for whoever wants to go.

(Thought I'd give it a shot...)

Ever since the site moved, I've oddly been able to access bf but not ll. I guess baseball isn't a game site but football is. But, as with every year, I'm off all week leading up to the draft, so I'm in for a group effort.

Jacksonville Jaguars select:
Dion Jordan, DE, Oregon

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Ideally the Raiders trade down to accrue some picks to replace the ones that they oh so foolishly gave up for Carson Palmer. There are needs pretty much all across the board here. So with no QB or WR being worthy of being picked this high, Reggie McKenzie selects Sharrif Floyd - DT, Florida

Run with it...

The Philadelphia Eagles select Eric Fisher, OT, Central Michigan. Vick, or any QB, will get broken in half if they don't fix their OL.

The Detroit Lions select Lane Johnson, OT, Oklahoma

Was close to going with Dee Milliner (CB, 'Bama). Felt like a coin flip.

I think the Lions would be tempted to take a OT if one of Joeckel or Fisher falls, but just don't see them taking the 3rd best OT over the best CB. Who knows though, it could very well happen.

The Cleveland Browns are now on the clock for the next poster, whoever that may be.

I don't know... they really need to protect Bradford. Depends on what they think of Reiff. If they think he can play LT then they go with Milliner. If not, they need a LT and there are only three really good ones in this draft that can probably step in right away and start. They need two OT as they lost both Backus and Cherilus. Much more likely to get quality DBs in round 2 than a LT.

I think Cleveland may trade down in real life, but we can't do that here so I'll go ahead and pick Dee Milliner, CB, Alabama. I actually think they should consider taking Geno Smith if he's available, but they seem committed to Weeden so if Smith is on the board I'm guessing someone will trade up for him so that Arizona can't get him. Browns could probably take an O Lineman as well, but Miliner is largely regarded as best CB in the draft and the elite O Linemen are already gone. Would be reaching at this point.

I haven't seen a lot of new posters on B-fan. Probably due to team regressing a bit and other sites popping up (i.e. Brew Crew Ball).

Just wanted to say that it was a good idea from Louis Ely to post about this over at Brewerfan. Hopefully that can help drive this mock a bit.

With the 7th pick in the draft the Arizona Cardinals select Barkevious Mingo DE from LSU. The Arizona Cardinals still need a pass rusher. I was torn between Mingo and Warmack here as the Cardinals need both OL and DL help.
