Interesting the Redskins taking Cousins as well. Seems like a bad plan to me.

I'm still scratching my head over the Redskins taking Cousins. I think if I was a Skins fan, I'd have to start cheering for the Giants or Cowboys.

Looks like there will be some good players available for the Packers. Guys like Winn, Crick, Polk, Minnifield, etc.

EDIT: As I post that, Crick is off the board.

Mosley goes one pick before the Packers comp picks. Close, but no cigar...

So...I guess defense is the priority.

All defense all the time. I like it.

McMillan (S, Maine) doesn't even have a profile at ESPN.com. I like the Daniels pick, but the safety is a question mark; at least they're looking at a depth guy there, with Burnett and Peprah as the starters (and they're discussing the possibility of moving Woodson, based on Capers' comments yesterday). Kiper likes him, though.

I can see them subbing Daniels in on Pass rush downs, and getting value there. Atheltic enough to do some stunts and such while Matthews and Perry are moving around.

Everything I see on Daniels is smart, high motor, high character. This seems like more of a TT pick than most of the others. McMillian doesn't seem to have a profile anywhere. I can hardly find a thing on him.

I didn't realize Daniels was so productive in college. He looks quick off the ball and strong. Is the only knock that he's short?

It sounds like size/strength is the biggest knock on him. He's a bit undersized for a 3-4 DE, but he could be very good as a rotational player.

Well then, I stopped paying attention there a bit. Ted traded up again, sending picks 190, 224, and 235 to the Pats for pick 163 to draft Terrell Manning, LB from N.C. State. Sounds like he projects as an ILB...good athleticism, but possible injury red flags after a few knee surgeries.

In his presser, Ted just said they felt McMillan fell through the cracks because he played at Maine instead of a big program. Seem pretty high on the 4th rounders.

Manning had graded early as a 2nd-round talent that fell for the reasons jazzytrav mentioned. Seems like a good value pick to potentially provide depth inside.

I wish the scouting reports spoke of Manning as good in pass coverage, but they do not.

I'm least enthused about our picks on Day 3, but then again, I'm supposed to be.

Hayward would have been teammates with Rodgers' brother at Vandy, eh? That's an interesting connection....

As we saw with certain positions last year, depth is valuable. So with the late round guys if you can find ways to get them on the field in places to be productive with their strengths I take that as a success. Hopefully given time and coaching you can lessen the weaknesses to an acceptable level. It seems like the day 3 guys have a fair shot at doing that. And given the amount of youth already on the team I'd much rather be trading some of those picks for guys with a better chance to stick than just having more lottery tickets.

According to the now seemingly obsolete draft value chart, this latest trade with the Pats was again a fairly significant win for TT.

Pick 163 - 26.2

Pick 190 - 15.4
Pick 224 - 2
Pick 235 - not on the chart due to comp picks...call it 2

26.2 to 19.4. Also of interest is that the 5th round pick that we traded for is the one we originally gave them to move back into the 2nd. So essentially, we got a 2nd for a 3rd, a 6th, and two 7ths, which makes that original trade-up into the 2nd look even better on the value chart.

Congrats to Brady Ewing who joined Konz in Atlanta in the 5th and Brad Nortman who went to the Panthers in the 6th.

I have a feeling Ewing's pass catching abilities will keep him in the league a long time for a 5th rounder.

Do the Packers go Polk with one of the last two picks? I'm surprised he's still there.
