SCOUTING REPORT:

Quote from Coach Van Diest: “Josh, like Ryan Armstrong, will be a four-year starter this fall going into his senior year on the offensive line. He has been a stalwart at the offensive tackle spot. Maybe our most improved offensive lineman last year. He really came on and learned how to play physical. We are counting on great things from him this fall.”

Randall Jette, CB, UMass
Jette (5-11, 180) has already defended 36 passes (seven interceptions, 29 breakups) in this first three years with the Minutemen, and looks to reach the 50 mark this season. Jette (prounounced JET), a 2014 second-team All-MAC selection, will receive more recognition for his persistence in coverage as UMass charges toward a conference title this season under former NFL and college coordinator Mark Whipple (who coached UMass to a Division I-AA title in his first stint with the team).

Understanding of the game is very evident when you watch him play. Understands what is going on around him, processing things very quickly and attacking the ball. Hard hitter, enjoys the physical aspect of the game and is the best blitzing safety in the conference. The type of player that can make NFL scouts look back and ask how did we miss him?

A big play receiver that has excellent speed. Could have value as a special teams player as well. Would like to see him become more of a receiver rather than just an athlete by improving his route running skills.

UDFA: Dennis Parks, WR - cut after rookie training camp
6-2, 200lbs, Rice
DOB:

Image

SCOUTING REPORT:
dynastydraftnik.com
Positives: Above-average height and bulk for the position. Adequate game speed and acceleration. Runs above-average routes and is quick out of his breaks. Above-average hands catcher who tracks well over his inside shoulder and can extend. Pretty nimble on the sidelines. Willing to get physical with cornerbacks and will stiff arm for extra yards. Is an adequate downfield blocker. Above-average lower-body explosiveness in pro day tests.

Negatives: Has consistent trouble adjusting to underthrown passes or coming down with contested passes. Though his game speed is adequate, his track speed is below average. Below-average vertical leap. Not as quick into his breaks when running routes. Should also try to complete his comeback routes to get more separation.

Projection: Undrafted free agent.
