Well, of course it all depends on how far down they move. But the Bills gave up an early 3rd to go from 43 to 34, so I'll take that bet on the charity donation (and I'll reciprocate - if the Pack moves down more than 6 slots but don't get a 3rd for it, I'll make a donation to the charity of your choice).

To answer Colby's question, OT is always a position that seems to get people to move up (Staley, Ugoh, etc.), and this year figures to be no different as there seems to be a big dropoff from Williams/Cherilus/Baker/Otah (all projected late first/early 2nd) to the next set of tackles. DL always draws trade-ups too, and DE and DT also appear to be a positions that have a dropoff at the end of the first, so someone could want to move up to address those areas. QB is another position that has been getting lean lately and has drawn a few trade-ups the last few years, but Flacco and Woodson appear to be more mid-2nd round than late first/early 2nd. TE is another position that has been lean lately, and also seems to be a big dropoff after the first 5 players, but like QB, TE probably won't start getting picked until early 2nd. So I think this year the best bet is for teams who want to trade up to get OL and DL.

The NFL draft is April 26-27, but I thought there was some talk to push the first two rounds to Friday night (or Saturday night) to make the event more suitable for primetime TV.

I know a few have suggested a need for a rush end, and given the copycat nature of sports I'm curious if a more dependable rush end may be in order especially after the Giants showed that they could continually get to the passer by rushing their 4 down linemen (something the Bears did very well the year before).

And I know others have mentioned this in relationship to Corey Williams, in that the team will be losing one of their better inside pass rushers should they allow him to leave via free agency.

In addition, I have always contended that your secondary is only as good as your pass rush. An improved pass rush across the board may lessen the perceived need for help in the defensive backfield.

I'm not sure if anyone is even worthy of such a selection in the late first, or even in the early 20s in a trade-up scenario, but it would not surprise me one bit to see the team take this route on draft day.

I think it was discussed, but I think they only decided to move Round three to Sunday as their only restructuring.

I forgot to mention that NFL has their new mock draft up with the Packers taking Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB from Tennessee St., in the first and Philip Wheeler, LB from Georgia Tech, in the 2nd.

That does make sense especially since the first 5-10 picks in the 2nd round are occupied by teams that likely will be looking to upgrade their OL. I could see the Falcons being a candidate to move up since they have a pair of 2nd rounders to play with (that is if they don't take Jake Long in the 1st).

One change that they did make, other than moving the third round to Sunday, is to shorten the time between picks on Saturday - 10 minutes (first round; down from 15) and 7 minutes (second round; down from 10).

So Saturday will only be rounds 1 and 2 and then Sunday will be 3,4,5,6 and 7?

Wow, that's strange. Why would they cut the time AND move round 3 to Sunday? Seems like they're just loading more of the timing issues to Sunday.

Actually, if I recall, the first day just took way too long last year, and the second day was incredibly short. ESPN finally just ended the broadcast somewhere in the 3rd round on Day 1 because they ran out of stuff to talk about and were just cycling stories.

I think this change should at least even things out a little bit, as well as giving them a night of gathering new stories before they hit it for the 3rd round on Sunday.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

I'm a big draft diehard and I usually watch the whole thing (draft party on first day and and have the tv on all day on day 2 when I'm getting stuff done), but last year's draft was way too long. I think the main problem is that teams used to take the time they thought appropriate to make their pick in the first round (ie 5 min, 9 min, etc), but now they all seem to take 15 minutes or close to it. I also think that when a team trades into a pick they shouldn't be given an additional 15 minutes. Think about it this way...4 trades in the first round could add an extra hour to the draft. That needs to be changed IMO.

The changes ESPN/NFL made to the draft structure make perfect sense to me.
As regards trades late in the first, it's my opinion that they happen when a particular team has a particular player/players in mind high on their board, so I don't think that it's that unlikely that, given the way this year shapes up, TT will trade down if he can find a partner. As I recall the Cleveland trade last year, they didn't offer any where near enough for our slot to make the deal they made later. Hindsight is always 20-20 when it comes to past drafts.
