The Lions select:

Tracy Porter, CB, Indiana

Damn you Peavey. I was thinking about taking him with the previous pick but was worried I wouldn't be able to get a QB here with Flacco already off the board.

Well... the Falcons have two more big holes to fill - one requires a little bit of a reach here and one would get a guy who I'm really surprised is still here. I'll take the latter - Reggie Smith, S/CB, Oklahoma. Falcons need a CB to replace Hall, plus Chris Crocker is gone and Lawyer Milloy is old and Smith could play either position. Getting two guys in the 2nd in Connor and Smith who many have going in the first is not bad at all.

Now I need a good LT to still be available in the 3rd round.

I'm going to be in Court most of tomorrow, so I'll just make 3 picks for the Bucs, and that way...one of my guys will actually be available.

1) Pat Sims, DT, Auburn
2) Patrick Lee, CB, Auburn
3) Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame

...Just looking at the best available players within the next draft tier that fit their needs.

(My 2nd rounder last time was a Center....but they ended up signing the top free agent center about a day after I made the pick.)

Yes, RB is the best value for them. Johnson, Rice, or Choice would all be good picks.

I would say a receiver here, as that is a need, but they really shouldn't draft another smallish guy IMO, and I don't really see the value here in the second for a bigger receiver.

That said, I would have to say DB, specifically safety since only one (two if Smith is considered a S) has been picked so far.

I would say WR or T, but there really doesn't seem to be much left. Jordy Nelson?

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

I'd go safety for the Redskins. There are a lot of guys around DaJuan Morgan, Quintin Demps, Tyrell Johnson, take your pick.

I would say Morgan or Josh Barrett; Jerome Simpson of Coastal Carolina is a big receiver still on the board in addition to Jordy Nelson. Also Charles Godfrey could be a safety or corner - he could be a good fit.

Morgan or Jordy Nelson here. Godfrey would be a good pick too.

Well, since I'm on the clock....I think I'll keep with the board I set up last night.

The Buccaneers select Pat Sims, DT, Auburn.

He's a bit of a boom-or-bust selection, but if he's motivated to play, he's got too much upside to pass up at this point.
I'd like a CB, but this is a weak DT class, so Tampa Bay is better off getting a tackle now, and try to find a corner with one of its later picks.

I think with their first 2 picks -- The Steelers either take the Guard from UVA or the Guard from USC -- I know they would love to snag a big WR as well. If James Hardy became available I know they would snap him up.

However I will pick that Godfrey dude from Iowa -- as the Steelers could use some more DBs.
