Has a broken pinky finger on his throwing hand. At least he can get more time in answering the phones at ESPN.

The Cowboys have a couple of tough games in this time span, including a huge divisional game vs New York at the Meadowlands. Granted, there's never a good time to have your pro-bowl caliber QB hurt, but that's a huge game for both division and conference positioning.

I agree. With this injury and the Cowboys losing some games now the NFC is wide open. It'd be nice to see the Packers get hot and start a nice winning streak right now. I can't believe how open the NFC is right now.

The Giants are the defending champs, undefeated, talented, and deep. The NFC isn't really wide open.

I think as of today the Giants are the best team in the NFC. A team though is only one injury or one bad game away from having their season change. Everyone the past few weeks has talked about how great the NFC East is...well the Cowboys and Redskins lost yesterday while the Eagles kind of snuck past the 49ers. If the Giants are #1 right now, who is the second best team right now? Tampa Bay? or....Arizona or Atlanta? I'm not going to put the Panthers there because their game yesterday was pathetic.

True. Being Tony Romo does not suck...even w/ a broken pinky finger.

Interesting to say right before the Browns dismantle them. Then again, I don't think there was a team in the league that could've beaten the Browns tonight. They were on a mission.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Not so fast. Tony Romo says he'll play through his injury. Was he influenced by Favre's phone call?

Romo didn't practice today and is officially listed as 'Questionable' on the injury report.

My question is, it's the Rams they're playing... what does Romo have to gain by playing other than impressing macho toughguys? Are the wobbly balls he's going to throw with an injured pinky really better than Brad Johnson's noodle arm? Will the injury fully heal without rest? It all seems kind of stupid.

Unless he thinks he'll play long enough to challenge Favre's consecutive starts streak, there's no reason for this...especially against the Rams. Even if he just takes this week off and comes back for Tampa and NYG it would be better for him in the long run. But hey, if he wants to risk the Cowboys season and potentially hurt it more against an awful team, that's fine by me.

That was what I was wondering. What exactly did Favre say to him? Broken finger? Pssshhhhttt....I've played through worse. And I'm your hero, don't forget.

Romo out until after bye week

Interesting strategy. Have him active for the Rams, then out against the Bucs and Giants. This is an extremely tough couple of games before their break, and they could be under .500 before the bye.

The whole thing having Romo active last week was just a totally stupid mistake for the Cowboys. If he couldn't play (obviously given what happened) they should have had Bollinger active. I'm not saying Bollinger is great, or even good, but it was pretty obvious, pretty early, that Brad Johnson wasn't going to get it done, which isn't really surprising seeing as he wasn't mobile or strong armed when he was 30, let alone 40.

Now Favre is saying that he didn't call Romo either.

Newsflash (can't find the link yet)....Brett Favre did NOT retire. He's vehemently denying that, too.
