Maybe it's just on my mind moreso than previous years due to the durability of Favre/Rodgers until the collarbone fracture this past year, but is anyone else growing concerned that we seem to be OK with going into the season with Tolzien/draft pick as our backup plan? I think drafting a developmental QB is possible, but I don't understand not bringing back Flynn on a short-term deal. As it stands now, he's scheduled to work out for the Giants. He's the perfect choice for them to help install McAdoo's offense with Eli sidelined after his recent ankle surgery, and will keep the chains moving in the regular season if called upon.

So what's our plan? Hope that Flynn is still available after the draft if we don't find an adequate prospect? Give Tolzien a full offseason in McCarthy's QB school and hope he's the answer? He definitely has more arm strength and upside, but if Rodgers goes down again, Flynn is probably a better bet this year.

Well apparently all it took was me to post this for the plan to be revealed, since the team reached an agreement with Flynn.

Now, when are the Packers going to address the fact that it's been four seasons since they last won a Super Bowl? [wink]

I'm okay with Flynn. Glad he's back.

Allegedly the Packers were interested in Josh Freeman had Flynn been signed by another team. Probably would have ended up like when they brought in Tim Couch and Akili Smith in separate years in the middle 2000s. After Freeman's last year it's hard to imagine him being anything other than toast. Good luck in New York, Josh.
