Shocking to the say the least. As much as guys hang around trying to make a practice squad or tryout year after year and he just gives it away. Thanks for the memories as a Badger, John.

I knew what I risked when I played, and I'm no longer willing to risk it.

Fair enough. He got a few years of six figure salaries, maybe invested well and lived below his means, and has a degree from UW. Now he sees no reason to chance even one concussion, and I don't blame him one bit.

Will you have this left guard to be the 224th pick?

Seems odd that he was so concerned about concussions for an OL.

I always wondered if concussions are more common on the O-line/D-line than we know. These are the guys that are almost always away from the ball, so it would be less likely that anyone would notice. Granted, they don't have someone spearing them helmet-to-helmet, but they get into a lot of weird positions in pile-ups with guys flying in.

Seems like the NFL is monitoring it pretty close for everyone; like Lang last week.

Maybe I read too much into the article, but it almost seemed like he was paranoid about it.

I wonder if having to deal with Jack del Rio for the next few weeks meant he left now instead at the end of the season.
