Earlier, I had posed the possibility of Rodgers or MM moving on because the relationship between the two seemed to be stale. And a new coach/QB pair would renew some creativity.

Now I'm hearing more scuttle about the possibility of both MM and TT being fired if the Packers don't make the playoffs or if we are one and done.

I'm in pure agreement that MM has lost his creativity and seems to be running the same plays over and over again. Thus becoming very predictable and easier to defend. Ironically, the injuries of late have forced him to run some different plays due to different personnel (Allison, Montgomery, Davis) and the results have been a significant improvement. The real question is why he can't do that when its Nelson/Cobb/Adams out there instead of running the same 3 plays 100 times in a row.

I'm still concerned about Rodgers accuracy, but I'm thinking more to blame is on MM.

Thoughts? Should MM and TT be canned?

Well, I'm not sure either should be fired for their scouting/drafting abilities but, yes, I agree that it would be a nice thing to see if they would "open up the playbook" a bit more.

I'm not saying that they should run a bunch of risky plays (flea-flickers, double-reverses, etc.) all the time, but the running game has become INCREDIBLY predictable. And the pass plays seem to be set on 6-10 yard gains all the time, with the exception of the long bombs that Rodgers throws when he catches a team off-side and he gets a free play.

If the defenses are constantly (so it seems) keying in on those plays, it's time for a change in playbook strategy, in my mind.

Agreed. I'm not talking about gimmicks, but a variety.
- Remember when we were masters at running screens? Recently, there have been some WR screens and the occasional RB screen, but its still rare.
- Using Montgomery out of the backfield allowed him to catch a ton of short, dump passes for good yardage. Our RBs/FB barely catch anything.
- How about the back-shoulder throws from a couple years back with Jones and Nelson?
- Is Richard Rodgers that bad of a TE that he never catches anything? Or is he not being targeted?

MM seems to only produce variety when needed. That is where I'm tiring of him. He keeps saying, "We self-scout and know what needs to be fixed", but it rarely changes.

Is calling yourself a "Highly Successful NFL Coach" more or less the equivalent of Will Ferrell (on SNL) announcing that he drives a Dodge Stratus?

MM has had successful seasons, but has been slow to adapt to the way defenses have adjusted to his offense. There's very little of players getting open through the design of the play at this point.

I didn't think MM was really on the hot seat this year...but this is a team clearly looking for answers, and a highly successful NFL coach should be able to get more out of the healthy players than we've seen in the past two weeks.
